D&D Mining is a small family Company, my son David and myself joined his Company D&S Earthmoving and my Company Hope Civil Pty Ltd together and purchased some equipment at Whitehaven Coal near Gunnedah in NSW. We were unsatisfied at that Coal Mine and our people were not happy living down there. We moved out of there and we are concentrating our business more around south-east Queensland, we currently have only 6 machines working in coal mines. We carry out mostly hire work although we will perform earthworks on contract if required.

We also got involved constructing reservoirs and dams in the cotton growing areas around Goondiwindi, Moree, Bourke, Condamine, Talwood and St George. We constructed all these jobs with Caterpillar scrapers and found a true joy in building this infrastructure on these farms, some of these reservoirs would cover 500 acres, it was great industry to be involved in creating a resource to make this country thrive. Then along came the Green Mafia and took control of the huge resources and stuffed up that industry and overregulated it.

Nowadays we are hiring mainly Caterpillar scrapers to construction companies around this SEQ area, we have only one Caterpillar 16H Grader and a Caterpillar D10T Dozer a Hitachi moxy water cart and about 20 Caterpillar scrapers of different varieties. We have 2 Kenworth Prime movers and quad floats for machinery transport.
